We have the crazy part down, but are still working on the wisdom!
Most common question asked:
Goats? Really? Why?
Best answer I can give:
I never wanted one. Ever.
Then I met a Nigerian Dwarf
and now I cant imagine life without them!
If only we could spend our mornings casually eating twigs and weeds and our afternoons generating tidy pellets that will fertilize our gardens and milk to feed our families
while we nap!
We are a small dairy goat herd nestled in the Rio Grande valley of central New Mexico. We strive to breed Nigerian Dwarf goats that excel in both the show ring and the milk pail.
Going "green" is my long term goal. There are SO many steps along the way...
Solar heating, wind generated electricity, composting toilets, grey water, carpooling, rain collection, recycling, repurposing... all to reduce your footprint.
As I hope to work on most if not all those things, I have decided to start by replacing some of my footprints with hoofprints.
They are one of natures most efficient creations turning waste into fertilizer and milk.
